On the 29th of May 2024, VFP observed the National, Regional and Provincial elections in Elim. 4 staff members; Vicky Muvhali,  Tsakani Hazel Makhubele, Rose Hlungwane and Tendai Chandigere observed the 2024 National, Regional and Provincial elections at different polling stations. In all 4 polling stations, Shirley Secondary School, Elim High School, Masungulo Primary School, Njhakanjhaka Tribal it was highly noted that this year people voted in large numbers and youth participated better than in previous years` elections. South Africans exercised their constitutional right to vote freely and peacefully.

The participation of youth and women shows that slowly but, surely voter education is helping our communities to understand the importance of public participation in governmental processes. VFP observers witnessed a free and fair, peaceful, well-planned and orderly conducted, highly attended voting process which enabled voters to express their democratic will.  The observations grew, not only the organization’s profile, but also an enriched understanding of areas where civic and voter education need to be implemented as we move forward with the promotion of civic education and participation in Elim focusing on 2026 Local Government Elections.
